Pastor Mark Dressler was born and raised in Taber, Alberta. He enrolled at Concordia College, Edmonton in the Education program and then transferred to the University of Alberta where he earned his B.Ed in 1991. He was employed as a teacher in the County of Leduc at New Sarepta for six years. He then entered Concordia Lutheran Seminary, Edmonton where he earned his M.Div in 2001. Upon graduation from the Seminary he was placed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Saskatoon. He served that congregation as their pastor until accepting the call to SML Christian Academy, Stony Plain in March of 2013 to be Pastor/Principal. He is blessed to be married to Michelle, and has two daughters; Emily and Maria.

Laura graduated from Grant MacEwan College in 1995 with an Early Childhood Development Diploma. She then went on to the University of Alberta to earn her Bachelor of Education Degree in 1998. Laura and her husband Tim have four children, and they love to travel near and far. Laura herself attended our school, and now she looks forward to teaching our Jr. High Social Studies program.

Lutheran Christian education has been a part of Carol's life since Sunday School days when she taught preschool after confirmation. Now, teaching Grade 1, she has held a contract in every grade except Kindergarten! She loves walking, FaceTiming with her very busy granddaughter, and visiting with family and friends.

Andrea hails from a small town in central New Brunswick, and grew up along a beautiful river that still holds a piece of her heart. With her husband Peter their oldest daughter Ava, they moved to Alberta 8 years ago. They expanded our family by two more daughters in that time, and have claimed Stony Plain as home. Graduating from the University of New Brunswick with a BA with majors in Canadian History and Political Science, and a BEd with a elementary and middle school focus, with a minor in resource, Andrea has spent the last 6 years with Parkland School Division. She loves coaching and is excited to begin a new journey with SML in the fall!
Mrs. Angela (Angie) Baron

Angie has a B.Ed from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, AB. Angie taught in La Glace and Grande Prairie before coming to SML. Angie's interests include reading, sewing, gardening, and camping. She also serves as President of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) in our church.

Prior to coming to SML, Leanne taught both elementary and junior high school classes at Duffield School, in Parkland County. Leanne’s interests include camping, scrapbooking and spending time with her family, friends, and loved ones.

Krista obtained her B.A. and B.Ed. from the University of Winnipeg in 2006. After graduation, she worked as a grade 9-12 English, Social Studies, and computers teacher in Ashern, Manitoba. She held her previous position for five years before moving to Alberta and joining SML in 2016. Krista enjoys camping, making cards, reading and biking.

Gary has a BA and B.Ed from Lethbridge University. In addition to his teaching assignment, Gary is the Assistant Principal, coaches Basketball and Cross Country Running. Gary just celebrated his 25th anniversary and has 5 children. His oldest boy graduated from the U of A, while his 4 girls are in various stages of school, the youngest is in grade 10. Gary still plays hockey and runs races in his spare time.

Eric has his B.Sc. from the University of Winnipeg, with his Certificate in Education from the University of Manitoba. Eric received his Colloquy from Concordia University College of Alberta. Eric also teaches Art and Complimentary Courses. This is his 25th year at SML. He was the first Chairman of the Lutheran Teacher’s Association. He and his wife Anika have two grown children, Tiffany (married to her husband, Christopher) and Michael. Eric enjoys the outdoors and art.

Vanessa has a BA from Augustana University College in Camrose, AB (2003) and her B.Ed from Concordia University College of Alberta, Edmonton, AB (2005). She has been a teacher at SML since October 2005 and has taught many classes across the upper grade levels. Vanessa enjoys being physically active and spending time with her family and friends in addition to coaching school sports teams.

Michael was born and raised in the Stony Plain area and attended St. Matthew Lutheran School from Kindergarten to Grade 9. He received his B.Ed in Secondary Education from the University of Alberta in 2010 with a major in Mathematics and a minor in German. Michael also teaches the junior high Complimentary Courses. He also has the pleasure of coaching the Boys Volleyball Team, Badminton, and assisting with Cross-Country Running. In his spare time, Michael enjoys playing soccer, running, camping, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and cheering on the Oilers and Eskimos!

Pastor Buck has his B.Ed in Special Ed from University of Alberta, with a concentration on teaching Atypical Adolescents. He taught in Northern Alberta before returning to Edmonton to earn an M.Div from Concordia Lutheran Seminary, Edmonton. His background in ministry has included two Parishes with Lutheran schools and thirteen years as a Military Chaplain in the Canadian Forces.

Pastor Keith earned his BA majoring in Religious Studies from Concordia University College of Alberta in Edmonton in 1997. He earned his M.Div from Concordia Lutheran Seminary in Edmonton in 2001. He served as a parish pastor at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Fort Qu’Appelle, SK for 11 years before coming to Stony Plain in 2012 when he accepted the call to serve at St. Matthew Lutheran Church and School. Pastor Keith teaches Religious Studies at the school, leads chapel services, and helps with the Cross Country Running team.

Connie grew up in the Stony Plain area and attended St. Matthew Lutheran School. After graduating from Memorial Composite High School she worked in Edmonton for Alberta Education, and then did various administrative jobs before coming to St. Matthew as our Administrative Assistant in 1994. Connie enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and quading.
Mrs. Nadine Melanson
Nadine has lived in the Stony Plain area all her life. She attended St. Matthew from grades one to eight and graduated from Memorial Composite High School in 1985. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana University in 1988. Nadine has been a EA at St. Matthew since 1999. She is also involved in many different volunteer activities at both our Church and School, including helping with our youth and young adults groups, and co-ordinating our Scholastic Book Program. Nadine’s interests include camping and boating with her family, needlepoint, and reading.
Mrs. Christine Keith
Christine received her Educational Assistant Certificate in May 2002. She moved here with her family in August 2012 from Fort Qu'Applle, Saskatchewan. Christine enjoys gardening, spending time with her husband and 3 children, and working with the students at the school. This is her fifth year as EA at SML.

Ian was raised on a farm in NE Saskatchewan until he completed high school and enrolled in the Edwards School of Business (formerly the College of Commerce), Saskatchewan. However, he had a long-time desire to serve in the RCMP and after a short period he left studies and embarked on a law enforcement career, which he pursued for nearly 33 years. Ian retired from the RCMP and assumed the role of Business Administrator for the church and school. He is married to his wife Karen and raised 3 sons.
